From 9 to 12 May 2026, WTCKL was abuzz with celebration as we hosted our 30th Convocation. Over 4 days, 4,060 graduates walked across the stage, representing 7,030 learners from all walks of life. They received their scrolls happily after years of balancing books, bosses, and babies.
Cap-tivating Milestones
- A New Era: In the first session, Tan Sri Azman Hashim was formally proclaimed Chancellor of OUM, after serving two decades as Pro Chancellor.
- No Bars on Learning: Proving that education can unlock any future, a prison inmate graduated with an MBA.
- Safety First: Two standout graduates received academic awards from the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH).
Wise Words for the Next Chapter
OUM President/Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang reminded everyone that success didn’t happen by accident. “It is the result of long days, late nights, and quiet sacrifices,” he noted.
In his inaugural address as Chancellor, Tan Sri Azman said graduation isn’t the finish line –it’s just the start of a bigger journey.
Stories That Soared
Our valedictorians proved they were ahead of the curve thanks to OUM’s flexible, digital ecosystem:
“As a professional, I require quality. OUM exceeds expectations through its technology-driven flexible learning model,” shared entrepreneur Dato’ Dr Haji Mohd Jafri Abd Razak (DBA) at the end of the first session.
Commercial airline co-pilot Puteri Maisarah Athirah Mior Nor Badrishah (Diploma in Management) agreed in the final session: “If the cockpit is where I learned to control an aircraft, OUM is where I learned to manage my time.”
Celebrating Our Icons
Three remarkable individuals received the University Special Awards (Icon): trainer Ahmad Fuad Mohamad Mokhtar (Digital Dakwah Icon), assistant administrative officer Rahimah Andungai (Inspirational Icon), and immigration officer Siti Hadjar Mansor Awang Hitam (Sports Icon).
Behind the scenes, 329 dedicated staff members ensured everything went off without a hitch. To cap it all off, 238 fresh grads joined the OUM alumni association (PAOUM).
Congratulations to the Class of 2026! The future looks bright, and we hope you will continue reaching for the stars.
