Celebrating METEOR’s Leadership Change

An afternoon tea session held at The Majestic Hotel KL on 6 July marked a significant transition for METEOR, as we bade farewell to our outgoing Acting Group CEO, Prof Datuk Ir Ts Dr Fauzi Ismail, and warmly welcomed our new Group CEO, Dato’ Naharudin Ali.

Attended by the Group Leadership Team and OUM Executive Management Committee, the session allowed us to express appreciation for Datuk Fauzi’s leadership and welcome Dato’ Naharudin on board.

During the gathering, Datuk Fauzi expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support he had received throughout his tenure. “Leading this organisation has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the support and dedication of every team member,” he reflected.

“I am pleased to pass on the baton to Dato’ Naharudin, a visionary leader who brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives with him. I am confident that he will lead METEOR to even greater heights.”

Dato’ Naharudin has more than 35 years of substantial experience in diverse sectors such as manufacturing, property development and construction, healthcare, education, ICT, and consultancies.

He had held key positions such as general manager and group financial controller in reputable companies. Notably, he had served as the CEO of IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd from 2011 to 2021 and UM Holdings Sdn Bhd from January to September 2021.

In terms of credentials, he holds Professional ACCA qualifications from UiTM and the Emile Woolf College of Accountancy in the United Kingdom.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Dato’ Naharudin remarked, “It is an honour to take on this new responsibility. I am excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead.”

The afternoon tea session concluded with a sense of optimism and anticipation, as the METEOR team embarked on a new chapter together.
