Convo Is Coming!

It’s starting next weekend! Anticipation is building up as we prepare to host our 27th Convocation at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur from 14 to 17 October. This event promises to be a grand celebration of academic achievements and lifelong learning.

With over 5,000 graduates set to receive their scrolls, the Convocation reinforces the University’s commitment to providing quality education to a diverse range of students.

Among the graduates, 25 had pursued doctorate degrees while the majority, numbering more than 3,000, had completed their bachelor’s degrees.

The Convocation will be divided into seven sessions – 2 sessions per day until the final session on a Tuesday morning. All scrolls will be presented by the Pro Chancellor, Tan Sri Azman Hashim.

In addition to the distribution of scrolls, the Convocation will also feature several prestigious awards. The President’s Award, the highest honour bestowed upon graduates, will honour an undergraduate and a postgraduate student for their dedication, hard work, and academic excellence.

Furthermore, the Convocation will celebrate the spirit of lifelong learning by presenting the Lifelong Learning Award to three remarkable senior citizens. Aged 75, 77, and 90, they are proof that education knows no age limits.

Meanwhile, in recognising the importance of occupational safety and health, OUM and the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) will be presenting the OUM-MSOSH Award for Academic Excellence to 2 graduates – a Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health Management graduate and a Master of Occupational Safety and Health Risk Management graduate.

More than 200 staff members will be working in various capacities to ensure the smooth sailing of the 4-day ceremony. The organising committee will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that graduates have the time of their lives and leave with sweet memories that will linger for a long time.
