Convocation Is Coming!
The moment we have been waiting for is just around the corner! Our 26th Convocation will be taking place at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from 1 to 4 October. There will be 8 sessions in total, comprising 4 sessions in the mornings and another 4 in the evenings.
A total of 5,390 graduates are scheduled to receive their scrolls in the first session from our Chancellor, YABhg Tun Jeanne Abdullah, and in the remaining sessions from our Pro Chancellor, YBhg Tan Sri Azman Hashim. Our President/Vice-Chancellor, Assoc Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, will deliver the welcoming address at all the sessions.
The breakdown of graduates is as follows:
- PhD and Doctorate: 21
- Master: 1,012
- Bachelor: 3,136
- Diploma: 1,056
Among the graduates, 31 are persons with disabilities while 40 are senior citizens. It is heartening that OUM’s 50% discount on fees has enabled them to further their studies.
As a “University for All”, OUM also has learners beyond Malaysia. Thus, there will be 165 graduates from Vietnam, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Somalia, Bangladesh and Yemen.
With this Convocation, the total number of OUM graduates will reach more than 98,000.
To all graduates, congratulations! You are now part of our cherished alumni. Graduation marks the end of one chapter in your life and the beginning of another. As your alma mater, we will always root for your success in your life and career.
