Earlier this year, our Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health Management with Honours (BOSHM) programme reached a proud milestone — it was officially recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest OSH professional body based in the United Kingdom.
Since January 2025, BOSHM students have been eligible to join IOSH as student members, giving them access to global professional resources, learning opportunities, and a vibrant international community.
For graduates, the recognition means they are now academically qualified to apply for Certified Membership (CertIOSH), a respected credential that adds strong value to their resumes — especially for those eyeing international roles or career advancement.
Our BOSHM learners and alumni are already starting to see the benefits, with enhanced credibility in the job market and growing interest from employers who value IOSH-affiliated qualifications.
The programme remains fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), recognised by the Public Service Department (JPA).
This international stamp of approval is more than a badge — it reflects OUM’s commitment to quality education, professional relevance, and lifelong learning. For working adults balancing jobs and study, it means their efforts are backed by a qualification that travels far beyond the classroom.
As the world of occupational safety evolves, OUM’s BOSHM continues to stand strong — equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and now, the global recognition to succeed
