Teacher + Entrepreneur = Teacherpreneur!
The Kota Kinabalu District Education Office (PPD) and OUM have embarked on a transformative journey to redefine the way teachers inspire and innovate. The stage was set at the Kota Kinabalu Learning Centre on 27 July, as a historic Note of Understanding was signed for a Teacherpreneurs programme.
The PPD was represented by Suhaimi Haji Matshah while we were represented by our President/Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, as they etched their commitment to collaborate in training teacherpreneurs.
This isn’t just any collaboration – it’s a bold step towards a future where teachers become dynamic entrepreneurs of education. Imagine teachers armed with the prowess of marketing maestros, the finesse of sales strategists, and the charisma of promotion gurus. Together, they will craft a new era of inventive learning materials that will captivate students’ imaginations.
With the shared goal of instilling values of innovation, research, creativity, and engaging teaching techniques, Teacherpreneurs aspire to transform classrooms into vibrant hubs of curiosity and excitement. The result? A generation of students poised to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
More than 100 innovative educators from Kota Kinabalu, along with PPD Kota Kinabalu pioneers and OUM mentors, will take part in this education venture.
The programme launch was marked by the first Teacherpreneurs seminar, orchestrated by the Google Educators Group. Entitled “Teacherpreneurs Life Stories Collection,” the event was beamed to eager viewers through the Kota Kinabalu Teacherpreneurs YouTube channel.
Also present were the Director of OUM Kota Kinabalu Learning Centre, Mohd Jaffry A. Rashid, and Assoc Prof Dr Gunasegaran Karuppannan from the Faculty of Education. Accompanying them were a constellation of exceptional principals and educators, all united by the belief that education can be an enthralling journey.
As the Kota Kinabalu PPD and OUM breathe life into the Teacherpreneurs dream, a new chapter in education unfolds. This is not just a partnership – it’s an odyssey of innovation and a promise of a more future-ready education for students.
