In the spirit of Ramadan, the Kuantan Learning Centre in collaboration with the National Council of Women’s Organisations Malaysia (NCWO) Pahang, successfully organised a Bubur Lambuk cooking and distribution programme at Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Permata Camar in Pantai Sepat, Kuantan, on 23 March.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from OUM alumni, students, tutors and staff, NCWO members, and notably, the children from Permata Camar themselves, who contributed actively to preparing the traditional Ramadan delicacy. Over 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to various locations around Kuantan, including hospitals, orphanages, elderly homes, mosques, and local communities. The joy and satisfaction were clearly visible among recipients.

Kuantan Learning Centre Director, Razalina Abdul Rashid, said, “This programme provided a meaningful opportunity for our students, staff, and alumni to strengthen relationships with NGOs and contribute positively to the local community during Ramadan.”

The event was further enlivened by the presence of generous donors who provided duit raya to the children at Permata Camar.

NCWO Pahang Chairperson Dato’ Sri Maznah Mazlan noted, “This cooperation allowed members from various women’s organisations across Pahang to actively engage and contribute, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion.”

This initiative reflects OUM’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, emphasising community engagement, environmental sustainability, and educational support, especially significant as OUM prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year.
