Masters of Their Destiny
Approximately 700 will be receiving their Master’s at the Convocation. A handful of them shared their thoughts:
I am successfully earning my 2nd master’s, this time a Master of IT from a university renowned for its adaptability in meeting the needs of working professionals. In my opinion, OUM’s online platform is at the forefront in Malaysian higher education, boasting a user-friendly and visually appealing design. I am highly impressed with the well-structured modules and the depth of knowledge provided.

To me, a master’s in nursing is highly valuable for nurses seeking to advance their careers and take on more specialised roles within the healthcare field. It certainly brought me a few key benefits and values, such as leadership and management opportunities. The programme included coursework in healthcare leadership and management, which prepared me for roles in healthcare administration, nursing management, and leadership positions within healthcare organisations.

I quit my job in the middle of the pandemic to take up a new challenge as a “senior” student at OUM – the best decision ever! While I faced initial challenges and struggles, the journey has been transformative. Looking back, every hurdle and late-night study session feels entirely worth it. This experience has not only enriched my knowledge but also instilled a profound sense of personal growth and achievement that I deeply value.

This master’s is very meaningful to me because I shed a lot of tears for it. Alhamdulillah, thanks to the prayers and support of my husband, mother, and friends, it has borne fruit. My employer and colleagues were very understanding of my situation. I was on the verge of giving up and had thought of quitting my studies. However, OUM and its lecturers always provided assistance and made things easier.
