METEOR Open House Attracts 800
Mingle, munch and make merry! That’s what we did at our parent company METEOR Group’s Raya open house on 30 April.
Held at Glamhall Damansara, the Raya Sama-Sama themed event drew almost equal numbers of both staff and guests, totalling about 800.
The celebration began with a warm welcome from METEOR Group CEO, Dato’ Naharudin Ali. Then, musical performances livened up the mood and got the party started.
The Blinks Entertainment kept the energy soaring with electrifying music, while dancers from Gema Tari drew attention with their graceful moves.
However, guest artiste Hael Husaini stole the show. Belting out Bersyukur Seadanya, Terlanjur Cinta, Raya Kita Raya, and Jampi, he also took selfies with excited staff and guests, making their day.
A wave of nostalgia washed over the audience when former OUM Vice President Prof Ramli Bahroom took the stage. He delighted everyone with some tunes, reminding them of his musical talents from his OUM days.
The excitement continued as other former OUM management members also graced the event, such as our former President/Vice-Chancellor Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Anuwar Ali, Prof Dato’ Dr Ansary Ahmed, Prof Ir Dr Rosli Hamir, Prof Datuk Dr Nik Najib Nik Abdul Rahman, Datok Che Omar Ahmat@Ahmad, Encik Repin Ibrahim, Datin Teh Raqamah Abdullah, and Datin Halimatolhanin Mohd Khalid.
We were also very honoured to have former Chancellor Tun Jeanne Abdullah and the former Chairman of OUM’s Board of Governors, Tan Sri Dr Lee Lam Thye, join us on that day.
The variety of food was splendid! Besides the usual Raya fare, there were other dishes ranging from biryani to soto, to satisfy every craving. The crowd favourite was mouth-watering grilled lamb, whetting the appetite of those willing to brave the long queues.
Indulging in delicious food wasn’t the only way we created lasting memories. Outside the hall, a bookmark photo booth and a 360° video booth captured cherished moments for us to take home.
Overall, the open house was a vibrant celebration that spread the infectious joy of Syawal.
