Spreading Ramadan Cheer in Kuantan

The Kuantan Learning Centre (LC), under its Director, Puan Razalina Abdul Rashid, hosted a heart-warming Ramadan Ceria programme on 28 March. It feted 22 bright young children from Rumah Anak Yatim & Asnaf Permata Al-Kauthar Muqarrabin in Kuantan.

Two other LCs also joined the programme – LC Temerloh, led by its Director, Encik Ismady Perdus, and LC Kuala Lipis, under its Director, Ustaz Radziyuddin Sulaiman. OUM alumni from as early as 2001 who were working in various organisations across Pahang and retirees took part as well.

After welcoming remarks by Puan Razalina, the highlight of the day was a shopping spree at East Coast Mall, where the children gleefully picked out Raya clothes and shoes.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the group accompanied by three teachers gathered at Restoran Dallah. Before breaking their fast, they listened to uplifting words by OUM President/Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang, and a touching tazkirah by Ustaz Radziyuddin. The children also received duit raya.

This event wasn’t just about bringing joy to the children; it was also a beautiful opportunity for LC staff and alumni to come together and strengthen their ties.

For the staff of Kuantan LC, the day held an extra layer of significance as Prof Izanee is a former Director of the Centre. His presence added sparkle to an already memorable day, reminding everyone of the deep connections between them.

The moment was also recorded in history as Prof Izanee was interviewed by the media, with coverage by RTM Pahang and Pahang FM.
