The countdown is on.
Our 30th Convocation will take place at Dewan Merdeka, WTCKL, from 9 to 12 May 2026. More than 7,000 graduates will receive their scrolls in 8 sessions held over 4 days.
The youngest is a 21-year-old Diploma in Islamic Studies with Education graduate while the oldest is a 75-year-old Master of Management graduate, proving that education has no expiry date.
There are graduates who moved straight through their studies, and those who took the scenic route – focusing first on supporting their families, building careers, raising children, and finally, finding the time to upgrade their qualifications.
Most integrated their studies into their lives – for them, work didn’t stop, family didn’t pause, and responsibilities didn’t wait.
Not One Story, But Thousands
There isn’t a single “OUM journey”.
This graduating class comes from close to 60 programmes across 5 faculties, spanning Education, Business & Management, Technology & Applied Sciences, Social Sciences & Humanities, and Computing & Analytics. Some graduates are advancing in careers they have spent years building while others are changing direction entirely.
Some studied to move up, some studied to move on, and others studied because they refused to stand still.
Recognising Those Who Went Further
At this convocation, OUM will present several major awards. These include the Chancellor’s Awards, Pro-Chancellor’s Awards, Vice-Chancellor’s Awards, Lifelong Learning Awards, and the MSOSH Academic Awards. There are also recognitions for graduates who have excelled in their respective fields.
A Moment Shared
Behind every graduate is a network. It could include family members who adjusted their routines for them, colleagues who covered their shifts, friends who kept them going, and lecturers who guided them through.
For many, this is when they can see the fruit of their efforts, in a single walk across the stage.
