The festive spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri was still lingering in the air when OUM President/Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Ahmad Izanee Awang and Head of International Operation Unit Azam Jalil flew to Vietnam in late March. Their mission: to welcome OUM’s newest alumni at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).
A Day of Triumph
On 28 March, the vibrant HUTECH Thu Duc campus came alive with graduates and their families. Of the 74 graduates, 40 stepped onto the stage to receive their hard-earned Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees. Each achievement reflected years of dedication towards obtaining a globally recognised qualification.
Words of Wisdom
In his congratulatory address, Dato’ Izanee praised the graduates for their achievements and left them with a clear challenge:
“Become ambassadors of knowledge. Use what you have learned to make a positive impact not only in your own life, but also in your community and professional fields.
“Continue learning – graduation is not the end; it is the beginning of a new journey. Stay curious, stay adaptable, and keep exploring.
“Your graduation marks the start of your journey as ambassadors for HUTECH and OUM, for Vietnam and Malaysia. Whether you stay here or go abroad, you carry with you the pride and values of both our institutions.”
Sharing the stage, HUTECH Vice President Ly Thien Trang spoke warmly about the deep-rooted trust between the two institutions. She noted that through internationally recognised programmes, Vietnamese learners gain a valuable competitive edge in today’s fast-moving global economy.
A Partnership Built to Last
The bond with HUTECH is one of OUM’s longest-standing and most successful collaborations. Through this partnership, students in Vietnam have access to quality programmes such as the following:
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Marketing
- Bachelor of Information Technology
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
This graduation was a celebration of how education can cross borders and change lives.
Seeing our Vietnamese graduates succeed is a proud moment for OUM. It’s a reminder that through open, digital and distance learning, there are no limits to how far you can go.
